BNP to Give EU Taxpayers' money back to EU Taxpayers Shock

Looks like the Irish media are taking an interest in what we think of the Lisbon Treaty. Strange is it not that even though the people of Ireland have rejected this outrage they are once again asked to consider voting again. One wonders just how many times they are to be troubled before the powers that be obtain the correct result. Should they run out of patience they could always accelerate the replacement of the Irish people themselves of course.

Chris Beverley rings this morning to inform me of a major piece contained in today's Daily Telegraph. Having glanced at it, I am of the opinion that it is quite fair. Telegraph readers will have the capacity to understand that once an MEP has been paid it is up to them to decide what to do with their salary. You will find the article here, which is worthwhile reading it its entirety although I will provide you with the opening salvo.

BNP TO USE EU TAXPAYERS' MONEY TO FUN GOOD CAUSES

Nick Griffin and Andrew Brons, the party's two MEPs, will skim off part of their expenses and salaries to fund a party-controlled "community chest", they told the Daily Telegraph.

People in their European constituencies – North-West England and Yorkshire & The Humber – will then be able to apply for the money in order to fund "worthwhile" local projects, including St George's Day celebrations.

A Beverley of a different kind now, that being the black singer Beverley Knight. She is not best pleased with June's European Election result and judging from recent comments she might be joining Snow Patrol and releasing a special track in order to "help the campaign against the BNP". Here is what she said:

"Imagine a world if that lot got in! Everybody I know would be shipped out of the country and the economy would collapse in two seconds. It's a big, big deal. As much as I hate the fact that people went to the booths and voted for them, we live in a democracy. People can do what the hell they want and vote for who they want, which I think is absolutely right. But now we've got those two representatives in Europe, all their bad intentions and dodgy policies have to be brought to light. Give them the rope and they will probably end up hanging themselves."

You never know, unlike Snow Patrol, she might pick up another MOBO, although the irony of this will more than likely be wasted on Gary Lightbody and Co.

Managed to fill the car up with cut price diesel this evening which, according to my calculations, leaves me with a fair chance of achieving less than 10p per mile. All I have to do is get to 620 miles before the amber fuel warning light activates and I'm back to 1990s motoring costs.

Before I sign off I'm sure you will all join me in sending our best regards to Norfolk-based Dave Fleming. Dave has been working so hard in the Norwich North by-election he was taken to hospital with a suspected heart attack over the weekend. I spoke to him today and whilst he seemed OK, he has been instructed to put his feet up.
