Scottish Matters

My first lover's tiff with my iPhone marred what had been a very positive and productive day. Constructive politics and enormous media interest coupled with two new doors fitted in the house was progress indeed until the unthinkable occurred. My lovely little gadget just died on me without any warning and rendering my recently installed apps totally useless.

After staring in almost disbelief I managed to Google the solution and deleted and reinstalled some of the software to get it working again after holding down a couple of keys and doing a hard re-boot. Thankfully, once you have downloaded an app you are permitted to download it again for free. We'll see how my iPhone experience pans out over the next few months but I must admit my confidence is severely shaken.

Thankfully my confidence in the BNP pulling out a decent vote from Glasgow North East is rock solid. A whole host of media people have been calling today wanting to know where we will be on polling day and you can expect substantial BNP coverage whatever the result.

Here, by the way, is the latest little stunt by the establishment to diminish our support:

With anxieties surfacing that the British National party might take third place, it emerged today that a Church of Scotland minister had launched a direct attack on the BNP at a Remembrance Sunday surface last weekend attended by Kerr.

Christopher Rowe, minister of Colston Milton parish church, said that "a vote for the BNP on Thursday would betray the memory of the many who fell between 1939 and 1945 fighting fascism". SNP officials said he told the congregation that "a Christian vote is not a fascist vote".

You can read the full report, contained in The Guardian, here.

Nick and Andrew are in Brussels. Mr Griffin has phoned several times today to be updated with what is taking place over here.Of course they will be back for our conference this forthcoming weekend which will attracting international media attention although none of them will be allowed to witness internal business.

Finally for tonight a bit of sad news from twelve days ago from Scotland. It has nothing to do with Glasgow NE and concerns a 40ft long sperm whale that was washed up dead on Balmedie Beach in Aberdeenshire. In a way it is comforting that these creatures are still swimming around our shores but I'd rather not find out like this.
